Why I am going!

Hi! This post is a little summary of why and how I have decided to participate in this semester mission trip and my story behind this process!

Throughout middle school and high school, I participated in a few short term missions with my home church. I loved each of these experiences, and these trips had a significant effect on my growing faith and walk with God! Going on these missions as a young believer helped build a strong foundation for my faith in Jesus because I was able to observe my leaders serving like Him, hear testimonies, and then practice living out my faith. It is so life-giving to be surrounded with Christian community, serving others and worshipping together with the same goal: to give God glory! Upon graduating high school, it was always my intention to continue to seek out future opportunities to go on mission!

A few months ago, into my first semester of college, I stumbled upon the World Race website and found this amazing semesters trip to Costa Rica and Guatemala! I was instantly excited, but never expected to pursue the trip any further. However, I couldn’t seem to shake the trip from my mind, so after a long period of hesitation and lots of prayer, I decided to apply. I wanted to be obedient to this opportunity that I feel the Lord had put before me! I prayed for His will to be done over my agenda; if this trip wasn’t meant to be apart of my future, I asked to not be accepted.

Well, I take my acceptance as a green light! I am excited to start this adventure of support raising and spiritually preparing for this trip! I know this process will take me out of my comfort zone and more deeply into dependence on the Lord!

If you feel led, any support whether financial or prayer would be so appreciated! Thank you!
